Interzone University (#603)

(an instance of Generic Post-Apocalypse Room made by Calkins)

     Herds of sheep and goats and long-horned cattle pass between the students and the lecture platform. The students sit around on rusty park benches, limestone blocks, and oil drums -- drink corn from mason jars, coffee from tin cans, smoke gage in cigarettes made of wrapping paper and lottery tickets...shoot junk with a safety pin and dropper, study racing forms, comic books, Mayan codices....
     The professor is an older man in a three-piece linen suit, a snap-brim fedora, and a walking cane. "Ah ladies and gentlemen, there are a variety of lesson tours available. Please proceed in the direction of your particular interest."

EXITS:
      [ south ] Interzone Plaza.
      You see some students heading north for the first lecture. [ north ] Ape Island. You head north along with a rowdy crowd of boys.
      [ northwest ] I. The Magus. You are lead into the desert to a stone sphinx. Entering a bronze door between its forelegs opens into a gallery of paintings which the Magus explains:
      [ northeast ] Archean Island. The professor explains, "Time is composed of recordings. By manipulating the recordings, we can manipulate time." He begins arranging an elaborate "cut-up" -- a mandala of newspaper clippings, cuneiform tablets, trilobite fossils. As time is subverted, your head swims...
