AnArchie Bunker (#1676)

(an instance of Generic Room with Surfaces made by Trismegistos)

A cozy little survival shelter for postapocalyptic times. The walls are decked with tapestries and posters, the floor with thick Persian rugs.
A queen-sized mattress dominates the north end of the room, and comfy burgundy throw pillows are strewn about on the floor.
Indirect light comes from a shaded clip-on lamp turned toward the east wall, next to an antique Mac Plus with a cheapo 2400 modem. A gasoline generator hums in the background. Along the south wall stretches a home-made bookcase, underneath which is a stack of comics and magazines.
A metal ladder leads up to the hatchway.

You sprawl lazily on the bed.
A gasoline can snaps, crackles, and pops in the flames

My Way, by Sid Vicious, starts playing on jukebox
Ronald Biggs sings off-key over smarmy strings: "And now ... the end is near ..."
Guitar strings screech and the song punks out!
Sid Vicious snarls: "Regrets ... Oi've 'ad a few ..."
"For -- wot is a brrrrat? Wot 'as 'e got?"
Sid Vicious sneers: "Oi did it mooooooooiiiy way!"

You notice some details:
A collection of flyers from the Anthrax, a now-defunct punk club in Fairfield County, CT; a full-color diagram of the Qabalistic Tree of Life; a lithograph of the Black Virgin of Montserrat; The Gashlycrumb Tinies by Edward Gorey.
A near-complete collection of Love & Rockets comics, some "borrowed" from melusina ... various back issues of Wired, Spy, 2600, Lloyd Llewellyn, Maximum Rock 'n Roll, the WFMU program guide, obscure Italian fetish magazines, and Watchmen ...
Ishmael Reed, James Joyce, Octavia Butler, Sylvia Plath, Don DeLillo, Elmore Leonard, Toni Morrison, Dion Fortune, Hermann Hesse, Samuel R. Delany, John Rechy, Hubert Selby Jr., William Gibson ...
Beige sheets and a rose-colored comforter on a big boxspring mattress.

You see a gasoline can, Generic Implement of Fiery Destruction, Generic Flammable Object, jukebox and Trismegistos here.
